Dear SATTA member,

We would like to inform you about the latest aktivies the Executive Board of SATTA conducted. In the last couple of weeks we have been in a vivid exchange with the other partner's at Skyguide, such as Helvetica (union ATCO), Si-Tra (union AOT personel in Geneva) and Syndicom (union AOT personel in Zurich). Initiated by Helvetica, we had a first exchange, where we shared the view of our members. On side of SATTA, we expressed our concerns, that the role of ATSEP has been weakened. Leavers and retiring personel was not replaced in the last years and more and more services have been migrated to outsourcing partners. We, the SATTA EB believes, that there is little chance to avoid this trend. Nevertheless, we analyzed one TIR in more detail and expressed our concerns and presented some recommendation in order to ensure that the outsourcoing partner delivers the same quality, if not more, as an qualified ATSEP. This case, on top of other TIR, was shared with our colleagues. The whole round concluded that Skyguide has sufficient input, e.g. TIR, SIR or OIR, to work on. It is key not to look at an incident by itself as weak signals or patterns cannot be identified. We recommend to invest time and money in the analyzis of the incidents in a more holistic way. Such an appreach may help to identify gaps at the earliest stage possible and helps to close the gap.

On top we are very keen to get your point of view, concerns and  hopes. This will help us to speak up as one SATTA voice.
